Today we played with Captain Calamari. We attached him to the play gym so that Ethan could hit him with his hands and feet. He's got lots of little toys hanging off of him and even a mirror at the bottom, Ethan loves exploring it all.
Today Ethan had his first swimming lesson at London Baby Swim. It was so much fun watching him splashing around in the pool with his Daddy. He didn't cry at all and just seemed completely amazed at this new experience. I can't wait to see him swimming away in the weeks to come :)
Today we played with Eddie the Elephant, a Lamaze toy. Ethan loved hearing all the music coming from this cute elephant, but he wasn't able to push the buttons himself yet. He definitely found ways of letting me know that he wanted it to keep playing music though!
Today we went to our first Monkey Music class. It was lots of fun and Ethan was completely transfixed. It was nice because he could stay in my lap the whole time so he didn't cry at all. We sang songs, danced and played instruments. A great class.
Today we put Ethan in his Bumbo chair for the first time. He was a bit unsteady and I didn't keep him in for long, but hopefully it will help him to learn to sit and it will enable us to play in different ways before he learns to sit on his own. We also got the tray, which we'll be able to use for feeding him when he's a bit older.
Today I took Ethan to his first Gymboree class! They offered a free trial, but I absolutely loved it, so I definitely think we'll sign up for weekly classes. Ethan was a bit unsure of it all and needed lots of cuddles and encouragement, but they had lots of fun toys, games and bubbles at the end! As a teacher I especially loved that they connected everything to all the skills and development of the children.
Ethan is loving his Sophie The Giraffe! He has started teething, so it's definitely a useful toy for him. It's great in so many ways, the texture, the squeak and the unique shape for a teething toy. I would definitely recommend it for all babies.
